Scarcliffe Primary School

Strive to Shine

Sports Premium

School Games Award

I am pleased to say that in 2023, we were awarded the Gold School Games Mark.  This recognises the commitment the school has made to delivering high-quality PE and school sport at Scarcliffe Primary School.

What is Sport Premium?

In April 2013, the Government announced new funding for physical education (PE) and sport. This funding should be used to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision. Funding is allocated to all maintained and state-funded schools with primary phase pupils, including: primary, middle, special and non-maintained special schools, academies and pupil referral units.  Schools are free to determine how best to use this funding to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision, including increasing participation in PE and sport so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels they are capable of.

How much funding did the school receive?

In 2016/17 Scarcliffe Primary School received £8,141

In 2017/18 the school received £16,890.

In 2018/19 the school received £16,890.

In 2019/20 the school received £16,740.

In 2020/21 the school received £16,800

In 2021/22 the school received £16,800

In 2022/23 the school will receive £16,820

Heidi Watkinson is the governor responsible for ensuring Sports Premium funding is well utilised.

How is the funding used and what impact has this had?

School is accountable for how this money is spent.  The document below shows what impact the funding had on our school for the academic year 2022-23.  We will evaluate the spending for 2023/24 and share this on the school website by the end of July 2024.
